For some reason it seems easy to forget the Lord of the Rings trilogy amongst the decades greatest but after leaving the theater upon the conclusion of Return of the King I simply marveled at the accomplishment. Return of the King is the climax of what is considered one of the greatest stories ever and Peter Jackson does it justice. Its an epic of epic proportions complete with stellar performances, action packed sequences, brilliant special effects and a magnificant score. It really does contain all the elements that a three and a half hour movie needs in order to keep ones interest. Its a film I'll watch repeatedly and its a film that begins the countdown to the best of the decade from fifteen.
