The Ocean films, Erin Brockovich, Che... this past decade was good to Soderbergh and as a thank you, he was good to us. Traffic began his decade long distribution of quality films and it is his best. Performances throughout and the characters relationships to each other and the world or drugs and the war on same make this movie a masterpiece within its genre. Even that however, is selling the film short as it really does paint a perfect picture of how powerful drugs are on society. Crediting this film as the 14th best of the decade wouldn't be complete without mentioning the stunning cinematography and look envisioned and created by Soderbergh himself. It would seem too simple to change color schemes when changing scenes but its done so well that it creates a mood, not just a look. Traffic's a movie that flows so well that it doesn't matter how many times I see it. Its always the same great movie.
